About Seljan
I currently work as an in-person math tutor in the Seattle area and am looking to expand my practice by reaching more students online. I have been teaching in one way or another since 2019. From spearheading an extracurricular chemistry club for middle school students to reading to preschool students to instructing STEM camps for teenagers to 1 on 1 personal tutoring for college calculus classes; I have seen it all.
I am driven by a passion to make education more accessible
because I was lucky enough to have access to high-quality private education my whole life through personal reflection I see how that was the main propelling force that transformed my life from growing up on a simple farm in a Middle Eastern country to being in the final year of a computer science degree and on track to making more money in my first year out of college than what my entire family's yearly salary was growing up.
One idea finally clicking can spark a lifelong passion, the drive to keep going, to keep learning, and to persevere through difficult times. I know so many students dread going to math and science classes, I know so many students would rather give up than feel stupid and I wonder how many of these students would live a completely different life if equipped with the right tools to tackle these problems.

To understand the 'how?' you must first understand the 'why?'. I focus on building a deep understanding of the problem at hand, then developing personalized strategies to help you solve not only this problem but also future challenges in exams, class, and everyday life.

My role is to let you lead the way; our sessions are designed around your unique learning style to ensure they’re as effective as possible for you.
Patience. Patience. Patience. STEM students often get stuck on a single step, making it hard to move forward. I’ll match your learning pace to ensure you fully understand each concept, from big-picture ideas down to the smallest details. No question is too basic—whether it’s a refresher on fractions or the fundamentals of algebra, we’ll tackle it together.
