About Marissa
Hello students! My name is Marissa, and I hope that I can be of assistance. One of the hardest parts of learning is realizing when the content is not clicking. When I hit that point, I found it hard to understand new concepts in class. Don't make the same mistake I did: ask for help! Tutoring is an amazing, one-on-one part of the learning experience. Every person has a different perspective, and getting to see a problem from a new point of view is a key reason of tutoring. There is great strength from knowing your own perspective is not enough to grasp the big picture. I hope as your tutor that I can help you understand hard concepts, solidify your knowledge, and inspire you to continue your learning.

I am well-versed in life sciences such as biology, microbiology, environmental science, and ecology. I am on the Dean's List at my university, and I assist in the biology department. After graduating in May 2022, I will be a high school biology teacher! Biology is not my only subject of choice though; I can help with speech, grammar, writing, and math up to pre-calculus.
I tutor students in middle school and high school. During our lessons, I will assist you with subjects or ideas in science, English, or math. If you have homework in those subject areas, I will help you understand the concepts that are not yet sticking. Before the lesson is over, I will help you see your progress and show you how much you know. You are smart! Don't let hard subjects make you question yourself.
