About Prashanth
Hello!
I have an MS in Computer Science from SUNY Buffalo, NY. I've interned and worked in startups, mid and large size tech organizations. I've worked at Verizon, eBay and currently in Amazon.
My experience predominantly has been as a backend software engineer - involved in designing scalable systems, being an agile lead & mentoring junior engineers. I've led multiple business initiatives successfully. I've dabbled a bit in full stack and NLP as well. I also have interviewed candidates for my employers.
I've found teaching to be quite fulfilling & transformative process overall.

Senior Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience. I've worked in India, the US and currently I live in Vancouver, Canada.
If you're in college or new to the industry, pursuing a career as a software engineer can be rather daunting, with the information overload that is out there today. I'll do my best to help you navigate the initial stages of your career.
I'll emphasize on a structured approach to coding. Right from approaching a problem in a systematic manner, debugging for issues (your IDE/ rubber duck will be your best friend here), and iterating on it.
My teaching style is going to be practical. Definitely expect to write a lot of code. (Of course , it doesn't have to be perfect code always :) We will have an informational session to go over where you'd need guidance and go from there.
There's more to being a software engineer apart from coding, so I'm happy to discuss my experiences, assisting with interview preparation, and early career mentoring.
