About Berk
Guitarist Berk Feyiz was born in Turkey. He started Guitar at age 8 at The Savas Cekirge Classical Guitar Education and Research Center at Istanbul Technical University, where he studied for 8 years. By age 18 he had become 2nd place in Vodafone FreeZone High School Music Competition, the most popular competition in the country. After years of professionally performing under his own bands name, he got accepted on a merit scholarship to the School of Jazz at The New School. He is currently a Senior and is studying under Mike Stern, and Mark Whitfield. He plays Jazz, Neo-soul, Blues, Rock, Gospel, and Classical Guitar. He regularly performs as a sideman in New York City, and Istanbul.

Gives lessons in guitar and music theory. Also teaches music production for Beat-makers.
My guitar lessons emphasize the development of technique, vocabulary, theory knowledge and repertoire. I'm dedicated to continuously improving myself to provide you with the best education possible. My lessons are for beginners/intermediates looking to learn advanced music theory, and looking to advance their playing.
I also studied in Bachelor Computer Science program. Anyone with an analytical background will know how abstract musical concepts can be. To find the right balance between learning music in an intellectual way and actually making/playing music is key. We will talk about these topics as well.
We can do lessons online or face-to-face, in the New York Metropolitan Area. We can learn songs and analyze them, use these analysis to compose your own original music, and produce these ideas into a real song!
