About Hayley
Seeing people have that ‘lightbulb’ moment after finally understanding a difficult concept drives me to help others with their academic studies. I believe everyone has the capacity to achieve stellar exam results, with the correct study skills and strategies. A typical lesson would be 1 hour, aimed towards KS3/GCSE Biology/Chemistry students. I teach by reinforcing understanding of the basic concepts first, then move on to focusing on lots of past paper questions, where learning how to write answers according to the mark scheme is crucial. With difficult topics, I employ spaced repetition using a ‘little but often’ approach. I can also teach study skills where necessary. I’ve had 2 years of experience being a mentor/tutor to lower school students.
