Part of speech:part of speech is a term used to describe traditional class of words in English language that varies according to the function performed.Basically,there are eight class of words. They are Noun: describes any naming word (person,place, animal,thing.)e.gShola,Hyena,Abuja,Bag e.t.c. Pronoun:replaces a Noun. e.gHe instead of Wale,She instead of Ruth e.t.c,Verb: Indicates an action .e.g She loves to read novels .Read is the action,Adverb:modifies an adjective,verb or another adverb.e.g She dress beautifully. Beautifully is the adverb because it tells us how the lady dress, Adjective: describes a Noun or pronoun.e.g Adam is a honest boy.Honest is the adjective because it tells us who Adam is, Preposition:shows relationship with other words e.g The book is under the table.Under is the Preposition because it tells us the exact place the book is I.e The relationship between the book and the table, Conjunction:join words or sentences together e.g I am happy to live here but l am missing my family .The word BUT join the two sentences together . Interjection:expresses emotions or excitement.e.g Wow!I see a beautiful bird.Wow! in the sentence tells us how exciting it is to see a beautiful bird.
