About Vivien
When a student experiences difficulties, it is easy for her to feel lost and to soon lose confidence in her own abilities. In my experience, everybody has the ability to be successful at school but it is sometimes necessary to adopt an individual way of working that schools cannot provide. It is also necessary for students to be able to talk freely about their issues and feel comfortable about it.
This is why a good tutor really can make a difference and help you gain in confidence, perform and achieve your goals. No matter what topic you wish to study with me, I can guarantee you that my service will help you build trust in your own capacities and provide you with the skills and attitude to succeed in a comprehensive way. I possess 1+ year of tutoring experience with foreign students in topics ranging from French, Maths to critical reasoning.
I believe that each student is unique and therefore calls for an individual working plan. Discussing with my students, I build a trust relationship and assess the needs in order to customise a working plan. I provide all materials and contents such as lesson slides, worksheets and any additional materials I deem of interest. I am also available on the phone and via email to provide support and help you solution problems if you are stuck.
I studied scientific baccalaureat in France before going into Economic Scientific Preparatory classes for 2 years, where I studied advanced Maths and other topics such as History, English, Philosophy. I possess a Master in Management from a Top Business School in France and a MSc in Finance and Accounting from a UK university. I am a native French speaker and speak fluent English.
From my studying and teaching experience, I do not believe in learning ready made methods to succeed in an exam. My approach is rather aiming on helping my students developing a way of thinking that will not only enable them to pass exams successfully but also to solve any problem they will face and gain confidence in their own capacities to achieve their goals.
I do not believe in robotic ways of learning but rather in funny interactions and in using examples based on my students' likes so that it makes sense to them and make them feel engaged.
