About George
I am currently a third year student at MMU, I have achieved 11 GCSE grades A-C (5-7) and 3 A Levels in Religious Studies, History and Psychology.
I have previous experience as a volunteer teaching assistant specialising in children aged 11-14, however I am willing to teach any ages from 11-18.
If required, I can also tutor maths and English.
I have been a mentor with ReachOut for the last year, which entailed being a role-model for children coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, and assisting with academic attainment through character development within the children, working upon principles of kindness, self-control and perseverance.
I have also trained in sports for 13 years, providing private tuition, group lessons and coaching to children and adults of all ages. I am also a referee within the English Karate Federation, and with my experience of sports comes principles of consistent and constant improvement, regardless of how small the improvement is. Progress is still progress!

My teaching methodology relies on communication and dialogue between myself and the students present. It is key, to me, that the student does not feel pressure, or stress to complete work, but instead it will be met with enthusiasm, reassurance from myself to increase self confidence, and specific answers or instructions can be given if they are directly asked for with a “please” on the end!
It is not expected that the student will be massively enthusiastic with the work, nor is it expected that they will resist legitimate attempts to better their education, however as a patient and calm individual, I believe that through mutual understanding of the student and myself, coupled with legitimate enthusiasm and eagerness, learning will become personal, fun and enjoyable.
