About Gul
I am a British teacher living in Cyprus who is passionate about teaching Sociology to the future generation. In a world of biased media, corruption, and isolation, I believe teaching Sociology broadens perspective and helps independent thinking.
Growing up in a family of passionate teachers, I am student-oriented and value the individuality of each student. Learning should be enjoyable to anyone despite their background and ability.

My lessons are based on the Cambridge IGCSE Sociology and Cambridge AS level book. To teach this syllabus I combine different teaching techniques from interactive visual content to small debates in order for students to learn as well as help build their self-confidence.
The length of the lessons ranges from 60 minutes to 90 minutes.
I have completed my undergraduate at the University of Surrey in BSc Media, Culture & Society. I then finished my MA in Sociology at the University of Essex. I have two years of teaching experience at a private school; Necat British College in Cyprus and also have experience in private tutoring.
These lessons are for students who want to take the IGCSE or AS exams. However, they are also for people who want to learn the basics of Sociology. The ages I teach range from 14-18 years old. I have experience in teaching students with learning disabilities and will help to cater to their needs as much as possible through extra materials.
