About John
I am a friendly, patient, and thoughtful person with a Masters Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. I have worked in a variety of areas within engineering and computing, mathematical algorithm development. My current job is as an embedded software design engineer at an audio visual company. Friends would say I am an easy going person with a good sense of humour. I enjoy and over the years have excelled in mathematics.
Most of my teaching experience has been within the workplace, where I routinely mentor and train more junior team members from different backgrounds, and bring them up to speed with technical knowledge and ideas. Quite often this includes mathematical concepts. I have also had experience explaining complex ideas to customers and other professionals who are from less technical backgrounds.

I understand that everyone is an individual with their own most effective learning styles. I aim to relate ideas and concepts by explaining a little context and where things fit into the big picture before diving into specific mathematical methods. I aim to get to the root of any lack of understanding quickly and build from that. I ask questions and tailor my tutoring based on the needs of the individual. I am realistic in terms of what can be achieved within a limited time and aim to provide the most value to the tutee. I am always friendly and professional, and constantly welcome questions and queries.
