About Mahika
I'm Mahika. I have a B.Tech in Computer Science, and I now work as a product designer at a consultancy, building enterprise software used by more than a thousand people every day — customer data platforms, operational dashboards, and internal tools.
I came to that through code, not through art school. During my degree I built Android apps in Java, a drowsiness-detection system in Python, encryption tools, and React applications. I'm also certified through Google's UX Design Professional program and IBM's machine learning courses.
Why I teach: my degree taught me to pass exams long before it taught me to build anything. That gap is common, and it's fixable — but only by writing real code, not by reading about it. Almost everything I use professionally today, I learned by building something badly and then fixing it.
So I teach the way I wish I'd been taught. Patiently, with real projects, and without treating any question as too basic. I still look things up constantly, and I think students learn faster when their teacher admits that.

I'm a computer science engineer who works as a product designer, so I spend my days both building software and figuring out how people actually use it. I teach the same way.
Most programming classes teach syntax first and leave you unable to build anything. I do it the other way round. We pick something small and real — a script that cleans a messy spreadsheet, a page that pulls data from an API, a working prototype — and learn the language while building it. You write the code yourself from the first session. I don't demonstrate while you watch.
A typical class starts with what you're stuck on or what we're building. Then we write code together, with me asking questions rather than handing over answers. We finish with you explaining back what we did — if you can't explain it, we haven't finished.
I teach Python, C++, web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React) and design fundamentals — how interfaces are structured and why.
Classes suit college students in B.Tech, BCA or BSc, school students taking computer science, complete beginners moving into tech, and working professionals who want to build things rather than just understand them. I'm patient with beginners — I was one, and I still look things up every day.
Sessions are online. I'm glad to help with college projects, portfolios and placement preparation.
