About Sotonye

As a dedicated tutor with hands-on experience in STEM and programming, I am passionate about helping students build confidence and master complex concepts. I’ve worked as an after-school tutor during college, focusing on making math and coding approachable and fun for students of all levels. Now, as a software engineer, I bring real-world insights into my lessons, offering practical applications for everything we cover.

My teaching style is personalized and interactive. I believe in breaking down challenging topics into simple, manageable steps and guiding students through problem-solving exercises. Whether you're tackling Algebra, Arithmetic, or beginner programming in Go, Python, or JavaScript, I am here to provide you with the skills and understanding you need to succeed.

You can expect clear, structured lessons that focus on your goals and progress. I strive to create a supportive learning environment that encourages questions, builds self-confidence, and equips students to handle problems independently. I’m committed to delivering high-quality tutoring with patience and professionalism.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I take a practical, student-focused approach to ensure my lessons cater to each student’s learning style. I aim to break down complex topics into simple, relatable concepts using real-world examples, which I’ve found especially effective from my experience as an after-school tutor in STEM and programming during college.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
I focus on interactive, hands-on learning to help students grasp difficult topics. I use a mix of guided practice, problem-solving exercises, and real-world coding or math applications to reinforce learning. I also encourage students to ask questions and think critically, guiding them to discover solutions themselves.

Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson starts with a brief review of previous material, followed by an introduction of new concepts using examples. We then move on to exercises or problems where the student applies what they’ve learned, and I offer guidance as needed. Finally, we recap key takeaways and set goals for the next session.

What Sets Me Apart:
I offer personalized lessons based on each student’s needs, whether they’re struggling with algebra or learning their first programming language. My experience tutoring in college taught me how to adapt my style to different levels, making difficult concepts accessible for everyone. I also have real-world experience as a software engineer, allowing me to provide deeper insights into how math and programming are used in the industry.

Who the Lessons Are For:
My lessons are ideal for middle school and college students who need Algebra, Arithmetic, Math, or beginner programming support. Whether you’re looking to boost your grades, prepare for exams, or learn coding for the first time, I’m here to help.
