My approach as a tutor is to focus on helping students understand concepts rather than memorizing procedures. I start by identifying what the student already knows about the topic and what areas they are struggling to grasp, then create explanations and plans from that foundation. I often break down complex ideas into simpler and easier steps and show how to tackle problems.
A typical lesson plan starts with a review of the content that the student wants to focus on by visiting their homework or notes from previous classes/lectures, so the student feels refreshed on the subject. Then I would explain the main topic and the common mistakes that people make. After, I would go through practice problems with the student and provide hints and help whenever they get stuck on a question. This encourages the student to take the lead while offering guidance when they require it. If the student chooses to, I would offer them time so they can attempt practice problems on their own, so I can analyze their current strengths and weaknesses. This allows me to recognize what areas we need to cover more and which ones we can move on from.
What sets me apart is my focus on building confidence and intuition. I make it my goal to make difficult and complex topics feel approachable by explaining why methods work, not just how to apply them. I also maintain a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I also adapt quickly to each student's pace and needs because I understand that every student learns differently.
My lessons are primarily for high school students or early university students, particularly those who are studying subjects such as mathematics, physics, and computer science. This includes students preparing for exams, struggling with specific topics, or just looking to strengthen their overall understanding of the course
