About Sophie
I am a passionate Guitar tutor with over 5 years of experience, teaching Guitar to college students who want to learn in a practical and enjoyable way. I focus on helping students grow musically while building confidence in their playing.
My teaching style is friendly, adaptive, and encouraging. I take time to understand each student’s goals and challenges. Based on this, I create lessons that are easy to understand and focused on real progress.
I use innovative teaching methods such as learning through popular songs, structured practice routines, and hands-on exercises. I combine technique training with creativity so students can play with confidence. I also help students understand chords, scales, rhythm, and basic music theory in a simple way.
To keep lessons engaging, I include ear training, improvisation, and rhythm games. These methods help students develop timing, musical awareness, and expression. I also guide students across different guitar styles including acoustic, pop, and rock.
I believe consistent practice and positive guidance lead to success. I provide clear feedback and motivation in every lesson. My goal is to help college students become confident guitar players who enjoy music and continue learning independently.

I teach Guitar with an emphasis on creativity, mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability. I believe learning music should be exciting and personal. My lessons encourage students to explore different styles, create their own riffs, and bring their ideas to life on the guitar.
Critical thinking plays a major role in my teaching. I guide students to understand chords, scales, and song structures so they can solve musical challenges on their own. This not only improves their playing but also helps them develop independence as musicians.
I incorporate accountability by helping students set clear goals, maintain consistent practice, and monitor their growth. Regular feedback and encouragement ensure they stay motivated and confident in their musical journey.
Along with Guitar, I teach music theory, composition, improvisation, and performance skills. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace and interests, making learning practical, engaging, and fun.
My goal is to mentor students to become creative, self-reliant musicians who can play, compose, and enjoy music for a lifetime.
