About Adelaide
I am an artist with over 15 years' experience writing and performing original music, and 7 years' teaching experience. I am fascinated with the creative process and I believe strongly in the therapeutic value of creative self-expression. I think creativity should be accessible to all, and in my work I strive to dismantle doubts and fears around the creative process in order to interact with it freely. During my time making original music, I've been lucky enough to perform across the UK and beyond, venues including Bristol Beacon and festivals such as Glastonbury Festival. My music has been played on the BBC as well as a host of local radio stations. In 2023, I graduated from the Institute Of Contemporary Music (ICMP) with a Songwriting MA (Distinction grade). I also have a BA Hons degree in Creative Writing from Bath Spa.

Our lessons will be fully tailored for your needs and goals. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, perhaps you would like support with lyrical craft and storytelling, or you'd like to learn more about creating a sonic landscape through music production or simply writing songs using a guitar. Maybe you'd like support with finding your voice, your vocal technique and performing on a stage. Or you could be unsure but excited to learn - that is fine too! Through years of being a performance artist and crafting my own original music, I have honed many of these skills and I love sharing what I've learnt with new students! In the creative process, it's so important to have a sounding board; someone to rely upon for accountability, feedback and support. Someone to support you in new ways of writing and creating - our sessions could meet this crucial need too. I have experience teaching and working with children and adults, as well as neurodivergent students, so my lessons can be flexible to a wide range of needs.

Adelaide is a fantastic creative writing tutor and mentor. Not only is she a wonderful writer but she is really fun to work with. She helped me complete a poetry project and I honestly couldn't have got it to the place it is now without her help. She is full of great ideas and created a lovely atmosphere when we workshopped ideas. Can't recommend her enough! Adrian x
I approached Adelaide when I had written both short stories, journals and poems that I wanted help making them into something more concrete.
I have written on and off since childhood and felt it was a case of diving in to finally make the investment of a trained outside eye .
Over the months we worked together she gave me enormous encouragement. Always keen to offer ideas on improving the pieces in a kind , supportive and creative manner.
Adelaide has an inquisitive mind and a deep insight into the human condition. She’s a great editor too. Can see the wood from the trees!
I always found her very approachable when coming with new work however rough.
As a consequence my works are now recorded professionally as an audiobook. I have four short stories on Soundcloud. I am taking the work further and it looks like some radio interest is forming. I know without Adelaide’s input I would never have found the confidence to go forward with this lifetime dream.
I can’t recommend her highly enough .View more recommendations
