About Werner
I am a passionate and compassionate graduate from Cape Audio College. I have had a fascination with music and film from a very young age. Furthermore, I am classically trained and a active musician. I see myself as focused, detail orientated and a perfectionist, although I can still be humorous and relax when the time arises. I wish to pass on my knowledge and experiences to others so that musicians and audio engineers can grow as a community.
I have studied Sound Technology and Production at Cape Audio College. Also, I have been playing guitar for 7 years and as a recent graduate I resonate with modern ways of teaching and have the privilege of knowing how a student should/wants to be taught, since I recently was a student.

My teaching method consists of 60-80% practical and 20-40 % theoretical depending on the module or topic. This ensures that students grasp the fundamental aspects of each topic and understand their practical applications.
My music theory lessons are based on UNISA course work and exam papers to ensure that students grasp the content to ensure that they can move on to the next level and effectively compose their own music. These classes cover composition, chord structure, cadences, scales, etc.
My Guitar classes consist of in depth explanations on notes, chords, scales, improvisation, etc. and then practical content which will be practiced with myself and/or backtracks. I provide all the notes to you for each topic to ensure that you can always practice at home and grow as a musician.
My Music Production lessons are tailored to encompass the required fundamental Audio Engineering theory for you to be able to effectively compose on Ableton or Pro Tools. These classes cover composition, chord structure, cadences, sound design, EQ, compression, limiting, LUFS, etc. Within these classes level 1 Music Theory gets covered and we dive into recording, mixing and mastering in depth. I also provide "cheat sheets" to increase your workflow when using EQ or Compression.

Details
All tariffs are based on my expenses to host every class (eg. cost of equipment, printing fees, travel cost if applicable, stationary, etc.)
If you choose for me to host the lesson at your premises an addition fee for transport will be claimed and a minimum of 2 hours of lesson time will be requested.
