About Nicky
I have been a private tutor since 2013. I completed my teachers degree in 2016 and graduated with distinction in all my majors (English, psychology and translation studies). After studying, I moved to Japan to teach English as a foreign language teacher. Upon return, I have started working at a Japanese company to translate between English and Japanese, and help other employees with their business English.

I consider myself quite strict in the sense that I believe that teaching is a partnership. Students homework will enforce what they have learnt and include a short research task as introduction to the next lesson. I like making every lesson unique and different, but as a guide, I try use the TEFL model of Warmer - Vocabulary - learning point - reading task - individual task - group task and debrief. I base my style around students I have and encounter so the above is just a guideline as I believe malleability is the key to successful pedagogical methods.
