About Julia
I have been teaching Spanish and ESL classes to people of all ages through a non-profit, the YWCA, and now at a Community College in Iowa. I am a native of Spain, now dual citizen (Spain/US) so I can speak Spanish and English fluently, as well as French, which I used to teach when I lived in Spain.
I have taught ESL and Spanish classes, mostly to adults, but also to HS students and children in group settings and individually.
I have received very positive feedback from my students and increased the numbers in our ESL program through word of mouth.

I work with the student to detect areas of need and go from there. I am very flexible and detailed and like to make learning fun and easy.
I use the foreign -target language at all times in my teaching and love using my body language to exemplify my teachings. I also enjoy using visuals, technology to support my teaching and fun activities, such as games, videos, songs, etc.
When I teach psychology/sociology, I use materials online to help the student integrate new concepts through practical applications and use many questions to promote critical thinking.

Julia taught me ESL classes at Iowa Valley and I often remember her teachings as the most valuable of all my Community college years. Details
My preferred method of teaching is through skype, which is also the most affordable. Any traveling will be counted as part of class time. So if I travel one hour to teach a class, an then one hour back home, the class would cost $75. IF traveling is less than 20 miles, then the rate will go down to $50
