About Seth
Hello! I’m Dr. Seth J. Batiste, and I’m excited to work with you in developing one of the most important life skills: critical thinking.
I bring over 25 years of experience in education, working with students from elementary through college. Currently, I teach in a dual language (Spanish/English) program in Texas, where critical thinking is not a separate subject—it’s something we build every day through hands-on math and science learning. In my classroom, students are constantly asking questions, solving problems, analyzing information, and explaining their thinking in meaningful ways.
I hold a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies with a focus on decision-making and change management, along with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction specializing in second language acquisition. I am certified in bilingual education, ESL, general education, and gifted & talented instruction. This means I’m trained to meet learners where they are, challenge them appropriately, and help them grow with confidence.
In addition to my K–12 teaching, I’ve spent years designing curriculum, training educators, and developing academic programs across the country.
In this course, you won’t just learn what to think—you will learn how to think linguistically. My goal is for every student to leave feeling more confident, curious, and capable of speaking independent of a translation device.
