About AIALA
¡Hola!
My name is Aiala. I'm a Spanish journalist who is passionate about communication, multiculturalism and environmentalism.
I've always thought about becoming a teacher but never fully went for it. My first speaking lesson a few years ago was a very rewarding experience. It is also incredibly fulfilling to see how my students improve quickly and how much they enjoy learning. It's all about overcoming the unavoidably uncomfortable issue of making mistakes – in fact, mistakes can be our best ally when learning a new language!

The best way to learn is to practice (we will talk, and we'll learn from the mistakes together). I learnt this from experience.
I structure my classes around certain topics (depending on the student needs, interests and level). Once the topics are set, we start talking about them and explore how to best communicate ideas/ vocabulary/ expressions relevant to those topics. I write key terms as they come up, on a paper in front of the student (or via shared screen on compter). I ask the student questions about key concepts to make sure they are remembered, whilst having a fluid conversation.
I am also very happy to talk without a structured plan or set of topics, see where the conversation takes us. It's all about practicing.
