I am a second year student of English Literature and Spanish at the University of Edinburgh. I am very passionate about my course and love all things Spanish, especially speaking it, so I am more than happy to help you along your language journey! I believe the best way to improve your language skills is through immersion, and the best way to replicate this in a lesson is through speaking as much as possible and not fearing making mistakes. I try and encourage this as much as possible, but of course I will explain new concepts and grammar ideas in English to avoid confusion. However, I understand that everyone has different targets, whether that be to improve fluency, knowledge and understanding of grammar, or perhaps reading and writing skills. So therefore I will adapt the lessons according to the goals of each pupil and what needs to be worked on!
Likewise, with English I have found the best way to get the top grades is through direct and continual essay practise, so therefore we will engage as much as possible with the target texts in lessons. I think close analysis is the most important skill to develop, but of course we will spend time on effective essay structure and themes and general ideas too to boost understanding as much as possible
