About James
I recently graduated from McGill University's Spanish Language and Literature program. I read, wrote, and conversed in Spanish about policy, history, and the evolution of Spanish-Language literature, primarily over the 20th century. That said, I've been most excited to research Iberian Golden Age theatrical works in their social context and revivals of humanist thought in 20th-century decolonial and postcolonial theory!

My approach to teaching Spanish is hands-on and social– Learn more about sentence structure, subject/article agreement, regional variations, and much more, all while discussing current events in real time! We'll set out by assessing your personal goals and start the first lesson by making a tailored curriculum based on your interests, travel plans, individual background, and everything else that makes you a driven language learner. From there, we'll set out a schedule and learning plan with your objectives in mind and get started with conversation practice and customized at-home reviews; These may include practice sheets, listening refreshers, and even assignments to watch TV shows and sports matches of your choosing to stay immersed!
