About Mafalda
I am Karina, the founder of Mafalda, a small language tutoring business and a fully qualified Secondary School teacher. I have been teaching Spanish and French in Secondary schools in England for the last 18 years with an outstanding record of GCSE and A-level results. We combine language lessons with cultural knowledge of the language studied.
Back in Argentina, I studied Sociology at the University of Buenos Aires. I completed a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages at Kingston University and an A-level in French with continued subject development at the Alliance Française. In 2010, I completed an MA on Leadership and Management for learning at the University of Canterbury. In 2022, I took part in the Google Hola Entrepreneurs scheme and my business has recently graduated from The small and Mighty programme run by Small Business Britain.

My lessons are dynamic, current, relevant and creative. Following an initial assessment I design a curriculum to cater for your requirements and needs. I combine skills with grammar and cultural knowledge of Spain and Latin America.
I hold a PGCE in Modern Languages, QTS status and also a masters in Leadership and Management for Learning. I combine my private tutor with my role of Assistant Head of languages at my local school.
My lessons are typically 60 minutes long and I teach all range of abilities. So if you are a beginner, advanced or intermediate student I would be happy to help!
