About Viena
¡Hola! My name is Viena, I am from Oviedo, in northern Spain, and I've been teaching for a few years now.
After I finished my degree I started tutoring back in Spain, teaching both English and Spanish. Two years ago I moved to the UK for a new job position as a Spanish teacher assistant at a prestigious independent boys' school here in London. After that year, I decided to stay and keep teaching here, so I am now teaching at an all-girls school. This means that I'm familiar with school syllabus and the format of official examinations, and also that I've got my DBS check in order.
With this global pandemic hitting, I've been online teaching both for school and as a tutor since March. In my opinion, it's yet another fantastic way of learning and practicing a language! This is why I'm offering online lessons, especially for students facing their GCSEs and A Levels this year, who may need help to brush up on their speaking skills.

I studied languages in uni, so I can fully understand the difficulties and needs of someone learning a new language or trying to perfect it. I am now studying a Masters in translation, which also gives me an opportunity to comprehend the most complex linguistic features of English and Spanish.
I am enthusiastic about languages and their cultural aspects, so I hope to pass that feeling on to my students. I am a patient teacher and I try to make my lessons as enjoyable and pleasant as possible.
