About Amanda
I am a literary specialist with a focus on Dante and on ancient literature, and research the connections between literary works from the ancient to the contemporary era. I am known throughout my local community as a keen Dante-enthusiast and have held public lectures on the subject, which were particularly well-received. It is incredibly important to me to make literature personal and relatable to the individual and to make those who I teach comfortable and engaged. While I maintain a high level of professionalism and responsibility, I believe that learning should be made fun, so any students of mine should be prepared to have a smile on their face as they learn.

My focus is making sure that students are able to relate to the material personally and full and lasting comprehension of the material, rather than simply feed students something that they may forget over time. My goal is to facilitate lasting education that will show the student not just information on the particular work they are studying but to give them the tools necessary to critically examine both the work at hand as well as any other pieces of literature or situations they may encounter in the future. I prize patience and believe firmly in learning well over learning quickly in order to gain a full comprehension.
