About Emma
My name is Emma, and I currently operate an Online School specialising in tuition for students of ESL, as well as Biology, Chemistry, Double Science, and Geography. Originally I`m from the island of St Helena, a British overseas territory, and now I spend my time between South Africa and Armenia. I have been teaching for around 20 years, having started at Lochranza Field Centre, teaching outdoor education as a Biology and Geography tutor. I then moved indoors after completing my M.Sc, and taught for 4 years at a small rural secondary school in Aberdeenshire where I taught Science up to A2 level. I've been teaching online for around 6 years, working for English First (Moscow) before becoming completely independent and opening my own school registered in Armenia. The school offers both tuition by myself, and tutors under my training, as well as opportunities to partner with local NPO: NTFoundation, whom I run literacy outreach projects for.

I provide educational support tailored to the individual needs of each student, offering support for both children and adults working towards British or South African qualifications at school, or preparation for IELTS, and similar ESL qualifications. I offer an initial assessment to identify core strengths and areas for growth, allowing us to co-create a structured roadmap for success. My lessons are highly interactive and designed to build confidence alongside academic mastery. I utilise a diverse range of resources—including SQA and GCSE past papers, digital interactive tools, and customised quizzes—to ensure that learning is engaging, memorable, and effective. To reinforce classroom progress, I provide targeted homework and regular feedback. Whether tackling Higher Biology or ESL foundations, my goal is to foster a genuine interest in the subject while achieving the best possible results.
