About Antonio
With my knowledge and abilities, I gained admission to Princeton, Yale, and Stanford on a full-ride scholarship called The Gates Scholarship (1% acceptance rate, 1 of 300 out of 30,000 applicants). At Stanford, I researched for 4+ years in molecular biology and genomics, learning extensive hands-on lab techniques and data analysis skills, publishing in leading scientific journals, including Nature and eLife Sciences. While at Stanford, I also was head TA and RA for a class called "LGBT History and Culture in the Bay Area," where I held weekly office hours, lectured on topics, and guided college students on their final projects. I was also a calculus grader for ~1000 students for 4 consecutive courses in the Stanford Department of Mathematics.
I am now a full-time researcher at Genentech — the world's first ever biotech company — using high-throughout genomics tools to understand disease and cellular function.
With 4+ years of tutoring experience, I've helped students from high school to adult levels with molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, calculus, writing, English, and the ACT.
