About Sharon May
Hi! I’m an experienced ESL teacher with 18 years of helping students around the world improve their English skills and build real confidence in speaking. I specialize in creating engaging, personalized lessons that make learning English practical, enjoyable, and effective.
Over the years, I have helped many students successfully prepare for English exams, especially learners from Korea, Japan, China, and Turkey. I understand the common challenges students from these backgrounds face, and I provide targeted guidance to help them overcome them with confidence.
In my classes, I focus on something very important: English is not about being perfect. It is not about having flawless grammar or perfect pronunciation. It is about being able to express your ideas clearly and confidently, even if you have an accent or make mistakes. My teaching approach focuses on building confidence, fluency, and practical communication skills. With 18 years of ESL experience, I help students use English naturally in real-life situations through guided speaking practice, clear explanations, and consistent feedback.
Lessons are student-centered and interactive, combining conversation, vocabulary building, pronunciation training, and grammar in context. A typical lesson includes a warm-up conversation, a focused language point, speaking activities, and detailed corrections to support improvement.
What sets me apart is my ability to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment, where students feel confident to speak and make progress quickly. I also tailor every lesson to each student’s goals and level.
My lessons are suitable for children, teens, and adults from beginner to advanced levels (A1–C2), including students improving general English, speaking fluency, pronunciation, or preparing for exams like IELTS and professional communication.
