About Alistair
Having struggled through the long textbook and precise exam technique that comes with studying biology, I know the determination and focused effort it takes to achieve a grade 9 at GCSE, and then to go on and achieve an A at A-Level. Now, I am going on to study medicine at university. I should know more than anyone that there is no magic wand, but we can make such a difference with precise and effective revision strategies. Furthermore, an understanding of how to break down and apply information you have learnt in the exam is a skill many students struggle with, but a skill which significantly impacts your grade.
As I am studying medicine, I also offer guidance on interview preparation, as I secured 4/4 offers as a result of my interviews. I therefore have a good understanding of the questions and scenarios you may encounter, and would be pleased to share all my knowledge with you. I would love to help you feel more prepared and comfortable with this challenging next step in your application journey.

Teaching up to A-Level Biology, ideally following the AQA course, we will begin to work together to identify parts of the specification which you are lacking in knowledge of. After this, we can begin to secure your exam technique, identifying exactly where marks are being lost. Only 35% of A-Level Biology marks come from knowledge, we need to learn to apply it.
To help you prepare for medical school interviews, we will begin by working through some common interview questions you may encounter, and identify some generic experiences which you can apply to a whole range of questions. I will teach you how to take your responses further, beyond a usual 'surface-level' depth, to truly impress your interviewers.
