About Eriita
I am PhD-qualified, experienced STEM educator and Pre-Service Teacher with extensive experience tutoring, lecturing, and mentoring students across primary, secondary and tertiary settings. I am a nature and animal loving space and sci-fi geek. I work in the space sector but one of my greatest joys has always been in sharing science and STEM with others, from academic conferences, to general public audiences and school classrooms. I love being an educator and look forward to supporting you along your learning journey.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in social constructivism, recognising that learning is most effective when students actively engage with ideas, connect new knowledge to prior experiences, and learn through discussion and exploration. I use multimodal and multi-sensory teaching approaches, tailoring lessons to different learning styles through visual, verbal, practical, and interactive activities. I view diversity as a strength and intentionally incorporate diverse voices, perspectives, and ways of knowing into learning experiences. At the heart of my teaching is a commitment to fostering joy in learning, building student confidence, and developing deep critical thinking skills that empower students to become independent and reflective learners.

My STEM lessons build confidence and enjoyment in maths, physics and chemistry through clear and engaging explanations, guided practice, diverse examples, and personalised support. Students receive structured homework help, targeted revision and step‑by‑step exam preparation tailored to their curriculum needs. Lessons strengthen conceptual understanding, analytical reasoning and problem‑solving skills, helping learners overcome challenges and develop confidence. Lesson can be taken for growing confidence with the learning materials, homework support, or exam preparation.
For primary learners:
My primary STEM lessons are joyful, engaging and highly interactive, blending digital technologies, science and mathematics through hands‑on, multimodal activities. I design learning experiences that connect new ideas to students’ prior knowledge, encouraging exploration, discussion and creative problem‑solving. Lessons use visual, verbal, practical and multi‑sensory approaches to support diverse learning styles and celebrate different ways of knowing. Students build confidence through colourful, playful STEM challenges, guided inquiry, and personalised support that strengthens logical thinking, curiosity, and foundational STEM understanding.
