I tailor my teaching style to best fit the needs of each student. I use abstract concepts, physical and visual stimulus to aid the learner when discussing complex concepts.
I aim to make every lesson engaging and fun. As a result of enjoyment, pupils acquire a greater depth of knowledge.
Throughout a lesson, I will concept check and ask questions (Pupils will answer in their books). Pupils also have a traffic light system on their desks (a red, yellow and green dot). After covering a topic, I ask pupils to place the colour that represents their understanding (Green understand- Red no idea).
This non- invasive technique allows me to identify which pupils require additional help with a topic ( especially those pupils who find it difficult to ask for help).
