About Elliott
I’ve been there…
…and I’m back to help you make sense of it all.
I began my big adventure at Oxford Brookes in 2002, knowing approximately nothing, feeling lost, terrified and on the back foot every day.
Six years and twice as many crit meltdowns later, I graduated with the highest portfolio grade in my year, as an RIBA silver medal nominee, a winner of multiple other design awards, the elected speaker at my graduation ceremony and the proud owner of a true, justified sense of achievement, not to mention a host of skills and experiences under my belt that would serve my career for the following decade.
Post-graduation, I went on to carve a highly successful career path in both practice and teaching. Within a year, I was winning competition bids for my firm, running design workshops around a kitchen table with billionaire clients and building a lifelong network of cherished colleagues.
A year later, I was leading an undergraduate design studio back at Oxford Brookes, delivering skills lectures on all the requisite design and image-making software packages, mentoring students through the complexities of their course experience and motivating and guiding them as they learned.
In 2016, I established Airtight Group, a small architectural visualisation, model-making and design studio in Bristol. I now procure and manage all of my own work through a choice selection of clients, on fulfilling projects, with the freedom to embark on whichever design-based side-quest that takes my fancy.
Now, I want to help YOU find YOUR way through your course, aim yourself squarely at your ambitions and discover the trajectory that will take you where you want to go.

How am I qualified to do this?
The stuff on paper:
RIBA Part II - First/Distinction RIBA Silver medal nominee
Work exhibited internationally, in the AJ, at design shows, London galleries, and all of that
15+ years in practice, lead designer, managing all digital everything
8+ years teaching architecture at undergrad / postgrad level
8+ years as an independent designer / viz artist, fully self managed.
The prosaic stuff:
I am an insightful, highly creative and ambitious designer with a deep, natural understanding of the creative process and a passion for helping people learn and achieve.
I am personable and friendly, while being transparent, direct and honest about what I see.
I understand the fundamental principles of the architectural educational journey and the RIBA undergraduate course in particular, the apparent roadblocks you will inevitably run into along the way and how to sail past them.
If you are ready to engage fully and directly with your architectural education and to confront with honesty everything you are looking to achieve, with the help of a committed, genuine design course mentor who will critique, guide and transform your experience of architectural education, let’s have a chat.
First one is free.

Let’s have a chat to see what you’re looking for.
Happy to do one-off critiques, assessments and workshops, but I’d recommend devising a schedule of regular fortnightly or weekly check-ins to help keep you on track through the year, if that’s affordable to you.
I need to charge with respect to my experience and the market value of my time, but am primarily here to enrich you, rather than myself.
With that in mind, let’s talk it out and come up with a plan to suit us both.
