Hello, my name is Braxton and I am a 3rd year Civil Engineering student at Western University. I have worked in camps as a camp counselor for multiple years and have helped many students with math/stem assignments/homework for my entire school life as Math was one of my best courses in terms of mark performance.

I teach in a way that emphasizes understanding first and foremost rather than memorization and this means I use tools like a graphing calculator to show them how to understand what is being taught. I make sure to watch for any potential misunderstandings and encourage questions to be asked whenever doubt occurs. I also teach in a way that summarizes at the end what the overall idea is. A typical lesson plan would include me being given a copy of the homework and/or whatever the topic is being taught. From there I will create some examples and solve for them then guide them through some more difficult problems. Once the overarching idea is seemingly understood, I will give them a challenge problem to do on their own and I will review the answer. What sets me apart is my experience working with school aged people (elementary, secondary, early post-secondary) for multiple years and proficiency in math and calculus
