About Vihaan
I have 13 years of teaching experience and hold a PhD in String Performance Studies. My academic research focused on advanced bow mechanics, performance psychology, and structured skill development systems for violin training. This educational background enables me to provide organized and effective instruction tailored to each student’s level.
Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with beginners building strong foundations and advanced learners refining high-level performance skills. I strongly believe that disciplined practice, careful correction, and positive motivation are key elements of long-term musical success. My teaching style is structured, analytical, and supportive.

My violin lessons are carefully organized to develop strong intonation accuracy, consistent bow control, smooth left-hand coordination, and expressive musical interpretation. At the beginning of instruction, I conduct a detailed evaluation of posture balance, chin rest positioning, bow grip technique, and finger placement precision. Proper alignment is essential to produce a clear and resonant tone while avoiding tension. We begin with long bow exercises to build steady sound production, followed by slow scale practice to improve pitch awareness and finger accuracy. I explain how bow speed, pressure control, and contact point influence tonal richness and clarity.
As students progress, we introduce shifting exercises, vibrato development, articulation variations, and dynamic contrast practice. Each concept is taught gradually to ensure full understanding and technical security. Repertoire is selected based on ability and musical goals. We focus on phrasing, tempo discipline, expressive shaping, and performance confidence. I provide detailed corrections and structured repetition to strengthen both technical precision and musical interpretation.
For advanced learners, I include recital preparation, memory strengthening techniques, and performance psychology strategies. Students gradually develop smoother transitions, stronger tone projection, increased endurance, and artistic maturity. My goal is to build disciplined violinists who combine technical excellence with expressive performance confidence.
