I am an outstanding practitioner with over 10 years of teaching experience, specializing in Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate English. I also bring valuable international experience from the UAE, where I taught the IB curriculum, allowing me to support students with a wide range of learning needs and goals. I believe that every student learns differently, so my approach is flexible, supportive, and focused on building both confidence and skills. I use a mix of clear explanations, guided practice, and exam-focused strategies to help students achieve their goals. My lessons often include breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, practicing past exam questions, and working on essay structure, vocabulary, and critical thinking. I also encourage discussion and creativity so students see English as more than just an exam subject.
A typical lesson lasts one hour, which gives enough time to review key material, practice skills, and check understanding without overwhelming the student.
I have 10 years of teaching experience, including work in Ireland at Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate level, as well as internationally in the UAE teaching the IB curriculum. This background allows me to bring a global perspective to my lessons, while staying closely aligned to the Irish curriculum and exam requirements.
My lessons are designed for secondary school students preparing for Junior Cycle or Leaving Certificate English exams, though I also support students who want to improve general literacy, essay writing, or critical reading skills.
