About Tracy
¡Hola hola! My name is Tracy, and I am a Spanish tutor here in the north Austin area. I have a Bachelor's in Spanish from Saint Mary's College of California and a Master's also in Spanish from the University of North Texas. While in college, I studied abroad in Mexico, Spain, and Morocco. To this day, my best advice to high school and college students is to travel abroad if you can! My teaching style consists of using the TPRS method (Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling). This method basically focuses on using the most commonly used Spanish words to tell a story. The goal is for the student to acquire grammar through a series of interesting storylines. Just tell me what you're working on in class or for work, and I will create a lesson tailored to you! The motto at St. Mary's College is, "Enter to learn, leave to serve." As someone who is gifted with patience and a passion for languages, my service to others – my vocation – is to create confident language learners with the hopes that their lives will be fulfilled by the ability to interact with people they would otherwise not be able to communicate with. Other Qualifications: I have taken coursework for Spanish translation and interpretation.
