About Uğur
I WANT TO WORK WITH STUDENTS WHO HATE PHYSICS!
My interest in physics since my high school years must have attracted the attention of my friends because they asked me to explain the subjects that were difficult for them in physics, but difficult due to wrong explanation, during the breaks. This was my first teaching experience. Subsequently, I joined an education association in my city and became one of the administrators there. My educational experiences slowly began to take shape here, both in person and in front of the community. The association reached 3000 people across Turkey. We carried out joint studies with the Evolution Tree. Then my METU adventure started. Around this time, I started giving private lessons in physics.
I believe that my main advantage is being a student rather than METU. I know where it's boring and where it can be confusing because I've had the same problems. :) Therefore, I make the style of my every lesson student-oriented, and I develop metaphors and analogies specific to the student before each lesson. And each time, I love seeing student-centered lectures show students that it's about the teacher, not the lesson. When my students who hate physics started to look at physics from different perspectives, they realized that it wasn't that scary. It is a pleasure for me to do this. Together we can overcome the hatred of physics. :)
