About Katie

I’m a student at OSU with publishing experience and academic experience, including essays, research papers, nonfiction and fictional creative writing, and even professional pitches. I’ve worked with writing in classroom and real world settings, which allows me to help students with a wide range of needs and goals. I take a patient approach to tutoring. My focus is on helping students build confidence in the short term and fully develop their own skills in the long term.

About the lesson

My focus is on clarity, practicality, and confidence. I use plain language, examples, and approachable explanations to make sure students can fully understand *why* things work. I will adjust the approach slightly depending on your specific needs.

Usually we’ll start with identifying what the struggle is or what assignment you’re working on. From there, we’ll work on examples together, revise writing, and talk through strategies. I always leave time for questions and next steps.

I combine academic knowledge with real world and professional experience. I’m patient, nonjudgmental, and focused on YOU. I don’t want to “fix your paper,” I want to equip you with skills to leave each session feeling more confident and capable on your own.

My lessons are best for middle, high, and early college students. I can help with grammar, comprehension, or just general reading and writing skills. I’m also happy to help with revising and editing.
