About Marlene
As an experienced Intervention Specialist and former Title 1 Teacher, MARLENE brings a calm, supportive, and highly organized approach to every tutoring session. I have worked with students who face a wide range of academic challenges, and I understand how to create a learning environment where they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. My background in student support has taught me how to break down complex material, track progress clearly, and adapt my teaching style to each learner’s needs. Professionalism is at the core of my work. I prepare thoroughly for every session, maintain clear communication, and ensure that students always know what they are working toward and why. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them develop strong study habits, motivation, and a sense of pride in their growth. Students and families can trust that MARLENE is dedicated, patient, and committed to delivering high-quality, reliable tutoring that truly makes a difference.

My tutoring approach focuses on creating a supportive, structured, and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident and capable. I use a combination of guided practice, clear explanations, and step-by-step breakdowns to help students truly understand their classwork—not just memorize it. Because of my background as an Intervention Specialist and Title 1 Teacher, I’m skilled at identifying learning gaps, simplifying difficult concepts, and adapting lessons to each student’s pace and needs.
A typical lesson with me starts with a quick check-in to review goals and current struggles. Then we work through assignments or targeted skill-building activities using modeling, examples, and active practice. I end each session with a brief recap and a plan for what to focus on next, so students always leave with clarity and confidence.
What sets me apart is my experience supporting students with diverse learning styles and academic challenges. I bring patience, empathy, and strong organizational strategies to every session, and I use real-world connections to keep learning practical and engaging. My goal is to help students feel motivated, capable, and proud of their progress.
My lessons are ideal for elementary, middle school, and high school students who need support with reading, writing, homework completion, study skills, time management, or staying organized. MARLENE always personalizes instruction so each student gets exactly what they need to succeed.
