About James
I am currently studying Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Cambridge. I have spent time working in both the francophone and germanophone region so that I now have a good level of fluency. I really enjoy passing on knowledge where I can to other students.

I offer fun, flexible and engaging lessons on all aspects of French culture, grammar and literature. The most important goal from my lessons is to make the student feel confident and comfortable writing and more importantly speaking in the language. For students taking exams, I try to focus on the areas where they feel least confident, such as grammar or oral skills. However, I also make sure to adapt my teachings to the specific student and can incorporate games and videos to make learning a new language more enjoyable, especially for younger kids.

Perfect! James made such a difference to our daughter's french (year 9). At the very first test after starting with him her result was much improved. James always makes the lessons fun as well as highly targeted. James is very efficient and reliable. We would definitely recommend him.

I 100% recommend Jamie. He Tutored my son in preparation for his French GCSE. The boys at my sons school take their language GCSE in Year 9 so it is their first experience of an exam at that level. Jamie pitched it just right and my son really looked forward to his lessons . Jamie was patient encouraging and all lessons were thoroughly engaging. My sons French improved dramatically and he secured a grade 8 (borderline 9 - awaiting grade review) I am without doubt that it’s thanks to Jamie my son achieved a top grade.
James is a fantastic tutor, and made every lesson fun and engaging. I always came away having learnt something new and useful, with all my questions answered, feeling much more confident. He really helped to improve my understanding, and I looked forward to every one of our lessons together.
