About Yuvan
I am a student who has just finished my GCSEs at Sutton Grammar School, and am yet to receive my results, but was predicted 8s and 9s in all subjects except French (predicted 7) and English (predicted 7/8). I have a particular interest in the STEM subjects, and have taken part in many competitions related to these subjects, a couple of these which I won (the ICanEngineer Challenge and the Cancer Research UK poster competition). I also do reasonably well in the UKMT maths challenges, getting through to the Olympiad paper every year and winning a bronze medal in the Cayley olympiad last year. I enjoy physics, often researching obscure topics such as higher dimensions, and taking part in the space design competition every year. I've previously mentored Year 8 students for a school-run club during our lunch break, though this was disrupted due to COVID-19.

I give lessons to KS3 and GCSE students. I tend to teach physics using ideas outside as well as inside the curriculum, using poster design and fact recall to help others memorize long lists of information, which I found difficult, though I tend to focus on equations and important rules. I also like to mix up lessons slightly sometimes, teaching students things which won't come up in exams but which they may find interesting, which require concepts from within the curriculum. I also find such an approach helped me develop new ideas, building on work done by people across various subjects.

Details
Cancellations are free online. They are also free if the cancellation for an in-person session is made 15 minutes + before the session. Cancellations will also be free given emergency situations which could not be forseen (e.g. medical problems). My rates are the same at all levels, though let me know if you'd like to change the price after a couple of sessions.
