About Cris
I’m currently a 4th grade music teacher with the San Gabriel Unified School District. I teach trumpet and trombone to young musicians, ages 8-10. Starting out in the school year these young musicians can barely hold their instruments, but now as spring approaches, they are all learning to command not just one, but 4 different scales, as well as a very strong sense of rhythm, and sight singing. Musicianship to me is defined by a fundamental ability to sense the beat, move inside time, hear the music inside your ears first, then play with a beautiful intention and tone.

Timeline is totally up to you as well, if you’re working hard and needing more time, no shame, if you’re catching on quick, and need less time no problem either! Customization is key in private lessons making absolutely sure all the while we know your goals and we’re working together to accomplish them through accountability, encouragements, and exhibition.
