About Hannah
I am currently studying to become a Secondary Biology teacher. I have been tutoring for over a year and have wanted to be an educator for over five. Teaching is something I highly value and am genuinely gifted at! I understand the desire students have to achieve grades that will support them in the future and make them proud in the short term (for those are my current desires). I am pursuing my degree in biology and education in order to make a true impact on students, which I hope shows my dedication to their success.

My lessons are geared towards GCSE/IGCSE students ( years 10/11 or freshman/sophomore) . I took these exams and earned full marks, but it wasn't easy! I can empathize with the amount of work it takes to score highly and I am dedicated to helping my students achieve their goals.
I focus on the individual student, helping them figure out the learning and studying technique that works best for them. I am willing to try new things and am extremely patient with frustrated students. Just because flash cards, memorization rhymes, or any technique is effective for most people doesn't mean it will necessarily work for you.
I have experience tutoring GCSE/IGCSE students and have seen clear improvement and increased understanding from them after just two lessons.
~ Personally, I have found the most useful way to come to an understanding of a tough topic is to work through exam style questions (first with help and later individually) in a low pressure space. This allows for the student to make mistakes without fear of consequence, and get immediate personalized help. The problem spot is then combed through as the question progresses and eventually the answer becomes clear. Once again, this may not be suited to every individual student and of course I am open to many techniques. However, I almost always see this approach produce increased marks within a few lessons.
