I am Mr. Macdonald Nkhutabasa, a Malawian based in Blantyre, Malawi, and the Founder of Chimwemwe Children’s Centre, a community-based organisation working in Baluti Village. Chimwemwe aims to create lasting change for children, youth, and their communities. We work in one of the poorest and most vulnerable communities in Malawi, where many children are exposed to significant challenges such as lack of access to education, poverty, substance abuse, and exploitation. Through education support, mentorship, spiritual guidance, and community outreach, we seek to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity for those who need it most.
It is within this context that I am honored to write this recommendation for Stephanie Kemp, someone I have had the privilege of knowing for most of her life. I first met Stephanie when she was just one and a half years old, during the time when I lived with her parents. Over the years, I have watched her grow into a mature, responsible, and deeply compassionate young woman. Her natural care for others, especially children and young people, has always stood out, and it has only strengthened with time.
I have also had the opportunity to work alongside Stephanie in outreach efforts to support street-connected children and other vulnerable young people at risk. In this context, I have seen firsthand her deep passion and unwavering commitment to making a difference. She does not simply engage at a surface level, she invests in the lives of young people with genuine love, patience, and dedication. Because of her involvement, I have witnessed remarkable transformations in the lives of many children and youth, who have grown into more confident, responsible, and independent individuals.
Stephanie possesses all the qualities of an outstanding educator and mentor. She is patient, approachable, and highly empathetic, creating an environment where students feel safe, valued, and encouraged to grow. She has a natural ability to connect with young people from diverse and challenging backgrounds, inspiring trust and confidence in them. Her communication skills are excellent, and she knows how to adapt her approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. Beyond her technical ability, it is her character—her integrity, consistency, and genuine care—that truly sets her apart.
One experience that particularly stands out to me is our work together in Baluti Village, where the socio-economic challenges are immense and opportunities are limited. Many young people in this community face difficult realities, including exposure to alcohol, drugs, and prostitution. When we first began reaching out in this community, the challenges seemed overwhelming. However, Stephanie played a crucial role in engaging these young people, building trust, and encouraging them to pursue a different path.
Over the years, the impact of that work has been extraordinary. More than 85% of the young people we reached have returned to school; some have successfully completed high school, and others have gone on to college. This transformation is a powerful testament to Stephanie’s commitment, her ability to build meaningful relationships, and her skill in guiding and teaching young people. Most importantly, it reflects her deep love and care for those she serves.
I wholeheartedly recommend Stephanie Kemp to the Superprof community. She brings not only skill and experience, but also passion, integrity, and a proven ability to positively impact the lives of her students. I would highly recommend Steffie as a tutor. As someone with my own teaching and tutoring experience, I know how important it is to combine strong subject knowledge with the ability to explain concepts clearly, and she does both exceptionally well.
