About Declan
I bring over two years of tutoring experience and an MSc in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry into my teaching. My focus is on forensic chemistry, where science meets investigation. Students study drug analysis, toxicology, and methods for handling crime scene evidence. Lessons often include simulated case files to make learning active and realistic. Analytical instruments, such as chromatography and spectroscopy, are explained in depth. I make sure students understand both the theory and the application. Ethical awareness is developed in every session, as it is central to forensic practice. My approach is interdisciplinary, linking chemistry with physics, law, and biology. I support students preparing for careers in forensic science with structured lessons. Law enforcement learners gain exposure to scientific techniques in investigation. Every session balances theory with real-world examples. Feedback is used to guide steady progress. Chemistry becomes an accessible, meaningful subject with purpose. Together, we learn how science can solve mysteries and support justice.

My Chemistry teaching approach is systematic, interactive, and supportive. I focus on organic chemistry topics, including nomenclature, functional groups, reaction mechanisms, and isomerism. Each concept is explained in clear, manageable steps. Organic synthesis exercises are used to reinforce learning and build problem-solving skills. Visual aids, molecular models, and diagrams simplify complex ideas. I connect lessons to environmental and marine chemistry, making learning relevant. Students aiming for careers in these fields see chemistry as a tool for real-world applications. Feedback is regular and constructive, ensuring steady progress. Lessons are structured but flexible to meet individual needs. Interactive discussions encourage questions and critical thinking. Students gain confidence in analyzing and constructing chemical reactions. Organic chemistry becomes both understandable and practical. I support learners in mastering the subject with clarity. Together, we make chemistry exciting and meaningful.
