About Mae
I am a passionate Flute tutor with over 6 years of teaching experience, working with school students, college learners, and working professionals. Over the years, I have helped students from different backgrounds build strong flute skills, musical confidence, and a deep understanding of music.
My teaching philosophy is simple: music should be enjoyable, meaningful, and structured. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each learner’s pace and goals. Some students learn best through theory, some through listening, and others through practice. I carefully balance all three to help students grow steadily.
In my flute classes, I focus on proper breathing techniques, posture, tone quality, finger movement, rhythm, and musical expression. I also help students understand music theory, sight-reading, and basic improvisation so they become complete musicians, not just note players. For advanced students and working professionals, I focus on performance skills, stage confidence, and refining musical style.
One of my notable achievements is guiding many students to perform confidently in school and college events, competitions, and examinations. Several of my long-term students have successfully cleared music assessments and improved their overall musical discipline. Seeing students grow from beginners into confident flute players is my biggest success.
I strongly believe in consistent practice, clear goals, and positive motivation. I mentor my students beyond lessons, helping them stay disciplined and inspired. My aim is not only to teach flute but also to help students develop patience, creativity, and a lifelong love for music.

My flute teaching methodology is based on Communication, Creativity, and Flexibility, providing students with a complete, adaptive, and inspiring learning journey. I begin by understanding each student’s skill level, goals, and learning preferences to create lessons that are fully personalised.
Communication is central—I teach techniques such as posture, breath control, fingering, articulation, phrasing, and sight-reading in a structured, clear, and approachable manner. Students are encouraged to ask questions, provide feedback, and actively engage in their learning, building confidence and motivation at every stage.
Creativity is at the heart of my teaching. Students explore improvisation, develop personal interpretations of pieces, and engage in exercises that foster musical composition and self-expression. This encourages both technical mastery and artistic identity. Flexibility allows lessons to be adapted to the student’s pace, progress, and challenges, ensuring continuous growth and engagement.
Alongside flute instruction, I integrate music theory, rhythm exercises, sight-reading, and ear training to develop well-rounded musicianship. My methodology ensures students develop technical skill, expressive performance abilities, and confidence, while cultivating a lifelong passion for music and a meaningful connection to their instrument.
