About Dharmesh
I am an experienced tabla teacher, offering private lessons and group classes for students of all ages and levels. I have taught tabla for many years in the UK and have developed a reputation as a dedicated, supportive and passionate teacher.
My teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation in the fundamentals of tabla, including hand and finger techniques, rhythm, and improvisation. I also put great emphasis on the importance of developing a deep understanding and appreciation of Indian classical music and its rich cultural heritage.
I have had the opportunity to train under several renowned tabla maestros in India and the UK and am currently taking guidance from Pandit Yogesh Samsi. I have performed extensively as an accompanist for various genres, including Indian classical and fusion music. I have collaborated with many leading musicians and dancers. Some of my achievements include an accompaniment of a South Asian Ensemble at the Purcell Room in Southbank, London, showcased on Sky Arts HD, a flamenco fusion ensemble at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, performing in Darbar’s Indian Vibes Series, featuring on Eduardo Niebla’s (Spanish Guitarst) most recent album 'My Gypsy Waltz' as well as being interviewed and performing tabla on National BBC Radio and TV.
