About Matthew
I am a current Mathematics Tutor at NumberWorks. I teach students from year 1 all the way to year 13. During high school, I was enrolled in scholarship/extension courses and now am a current student at the University of Auckland studying Computer Science and Statistics. I am passionate about Statistics, and achieved 2nd in Statistics Extension in high school as well as the NCEA academic bronze award.

Understanding what the student is confident and already has knowledge in the topic helps set a precedence of where to start teaching. I would also ensure the student grasps the foundations of a concept with basic questions. I would gradually increase the difficulty of the questions to introduce additional steps to the questions while still focusing on the principles of the concept. After being satisfied in the student's progression, I would introduce strategies and ways to approach questions based on the context and info given. I also believe repetition and practice is important so I would ensure the student has sufficient practice questions to complete. Typical length = 1 hr intended target age of lessons = All ages qualifications as tutor = Mathematics tutor
