About Catharine
I previously taught English as a Second Language at a private language Institute in Santiago, Chile, S.A. Subsequently, I was employed as a Bilingual (Spanish/English) Elementary School Teacher through the California Department of Education. More recently, I have been employed as an ESL Instructor for a global learning company. I am a Native English speaker with a B.A. in Economics.

Lessons are interactive and stress maximizing student speaking and practice time. Although some focus will be on grammar, time spent on this area of language learning will be minimized. My main focus is to inspire confidence in student’s capabilities. As a second language learner myself (Spanish as a Second Language - SSL), I appreciate the challenges students face during their learning journey. I approach the learning process with a sense of humor and adventure. Lessons are structured and each lesson is focused on a specific goal, building upon previous learning. At specific intervals, I will conduct a review which will help me evaluate each student’s learning progress. Prior to the student’s learning journey, I will carry out an evaluation to determine the student’s level of capability based on specific points.
