About Taesu
Hello! I am a graduate of Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM) and continued my studies at the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM). I am currently on a leave of absence from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
I have been qualified to USAMO (AMC and AIME)

My teaching goes far beyond simply delivering information. I work side by side with students, guiding them through the process of problem-solving and helping them steadily strengthen the way they think. Instead of memorizing steps, students learn how to approach unfamiliar questions with confidence, logic, and structure. Because I was in their position not long ago, I understand firsthand the academic pressure, uncertainty, and high expectations students face today. That perspective allows me to connect with them in a way that feels supportive, motivating, and realistic.
I also bring personal testing experience into my instruction. I improved my own SAT score from 1320 to 1570 in just three months, and through that journey I developed efficient, repeatable strategies that make standardized test preparation more focused and less overwhelming. I teach students how to recognize patterns, manage time, and avoid common traps so they can improve faster with less stress.
Students I currently work with regularly review school assignments and take-home exams together with me. As a result, they consistently earn scores of 4 or higher on AP exams and maintain A– or above in their academic courses.
